On 31st July 2023, West Indies Cricket Board announced the 15-member squad against India for 5 matches T20 Series. All 15 members of the provisional squad will travel to all matches. There will then be a 13-member squad for each match from which the final XI will be selected. Rovman Powell will lead the team and Kyle Mayers will be the vice-captain of the team.

The Senior Men’s Selection Committee on 5th July 2023, Wednesday picked India’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies to be played in the Caribbean Islands and in Florida, USA. The team has 15 players, where Hardik Pandya will lead the team and Suryakumar Yadav will be the vice-captain of the team. Indian team has two wicket-keepers namely Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson.

The first Test match between India and West Indies was played from 12th July to 14th July, the first thing was the toss, which was won by the West Indies team which decided to bat. In the first day’s play of the match, India’s bowlers bowled out the West Indies for 150 and India scored 80 runs without losing wickets. On the second day of the match, India’s team scored 312 runs at the loss of 2 wickets.

In the 3rd day game between India and the West Indies, India declared their innings at 421 for 5, taking a 271-run lead in the match. In this innings, Jaiswal scored 171 runs and Kohli scored 76 runs for India. After this, the West Indies team, which came out to bat, was dismissed for just 130 runs, resulted the Indian team won the first Test match by an innings and 141 runs. Ashwin took 7 wickets in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal was adjudged man of the match in this match.

The second test between India and West Indies started on 20 July and it ends on 24th July 2023. In the match Indian captain was Rohit Sharma and the West Indies captain was Kraigg Brathwaite. In the second test match, West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first.

On the fifth and last day of the game, the match could not be started due to rain, and the match was played drawn. In the match, Mohammad Siraj becomes the man of the match as he takes 5 wickets in the 1st Inning.

India won by 5 wickets.

West Indies won by 6 wickets.

In the third ODI, the West Indies team won the toss and decided to bowl first, after which Ishaan Kishan and Shubman Gill made a great start to the match and scored a century partnership for the Indian team. Ishaan Kishan scored 77, and Shubman Gill scored 85 runs in this innings. After this, Hardik Pandya scored 70 not out and Sanju Samson scored 51 runs. Thanks to all this, India scored 351 runs in 50 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. After this, the West Indies team, which came out to bat, could not stand much in front of the Indian bowlers and got all out for 151 runs in 35.3 overs. Shardul Thakur took 4 wickets and Mukesh Kumar took 3 wickets from India. India won the third ODI by 200 runs and also won the 3-match ODI series 2–1. Shubhman Gill won the Man of the Match award and Ishan Kishan won the Man of the Series award.

In the first T20 match, the toss was won by the West Indies team and the team decided to bat first. After that, the West Indies team came out to bat and scored 149 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 6 wickets. In which the most runs were scored by West Indies captain Rovman Powell, who scored 48 runs in 32 balls. In India’s bowling, Arshdeep Singh and Chahal took 2-2 wickets each. After this, the batting of the Indian team which came out to bat was nothing special and Tilak Verma scored the most runs for India, who scored 39 runs in 22 balls and the match was played till the last over. India scored 145 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. West Indies won the first T20 match by 4 runs on the last ball.

In the 2nd T20 match between India and West Indies, the Indian team won the toss and elected to bat first. India’s team has one change, in which Ravi Vishnoi got placed in the team in place of Kuldeep Yadav. Electing to bat after the toss, the Indian team scored 152 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, in which Tilak Verma once again played a fine innings and scored 51 runs in 41 balls. After this West Indies started batting and lost two wickets in the very first over, but still West Indies chased the target only in 18.5 overs and scored 155 runs at the loss of 8 wickets. West Indies won the second T20 match by 2 wickets.

After losing two T20 matches, Team India played the third T20 match against West Indies, in which West Indies decided to bat first by winning the toss, after which the West Indies team scored 159 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. In which the maximum number of runs were scored by Brandon Kings, who scored 42 runs in 42 balls. After this, India’s team came out to bat and played a good match, but India’s openers could not play a good match, in which Shubman Gill was dismissed for 6 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 1 run, but on the contrary, Suryakumar Yadav played a good inning and scored 83 runs in 44 balls. India won the third T20 match by 7 wickets and scored 164 runs in 17.5 overs at the loss of 3 wickets.

In the fourth T20 match between India and West Indies, the West Indies team won the toss and decided to bat first, after which the West Indies team scored 178 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs, in which Hetmyer scored the most runs, who played an inning of 61 runs in 39 balls. Put in to bat after the West Indies, the Indian team made a very good start, in which Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill shared a 165-run partnership for the first wicket, in which Shubman Gill scored 79 and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 84 not out. India won the 4th T20 match by 9 wickets and leveled the 5-match T20 series 2-2. Yashasvi Jaiswal won man of the match.

After winning the Test series and ODI series, the Indian team were playing a 5 T20 match series on the West Indies tour, in which 4 T20 matches have played, and now the 5th T20 match was played on 13 August 2023 at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida, in this match India’s captain was Hardik Pandya and West Indies’s captain was Rovman Powell.

In the fifth T20 match, the Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first, after which the Indian team scored 165 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, in which Suryakumar Yadav scored the most runs for India, played an inning of 61 runs in 45 balls. After this, the West Indies team, which came out to bat, played a very good innings, in which there was a partnership of more than 100 runs for the second wicket between Nicholas Pooran and Brandon Kings. The match was stopped 2-3 times due to bad light and rain. But still, West Indies chased down the target in 18 overs and scored 171 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. West Indies won the fifth T20 match by 8 wickets and also won the 5-match T20 series 3–2.
