On 20th November 2023, the Pakistan Chief Selector announced the Pakistan Test Squad for the Australia Tour from 14th December 2023, Thursday to 7th January 2024, Sunday.
For the Australia Tour, the Pakistan team has a total of 18 players, in which Shan Masood will be leading the side in his first assignment as Test captain. He was named Pakistan’s captain for the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle after Babar Azam left captaincy.
