The Asia Cup 2023 is currently being played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from 30 August to 17 September 2023., where league stage matches between 6 teams have been completed and 4 teams have been finalized for super 4 group matches. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will then face off in the final.
The Asia Cup has since had 15 editions, the last was played in 2022 in UAE where Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in the final by 23 runs, the final was played in Dubai, UAE. So, Sri Lanka are the defending champions of the Asia Cup. India is the most successful team in the history of the tournament, having won the title seven times in 1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995, 2010, 2016, and 2018, the Lankans emerged victorious in 1986, 1997, 2004, 2008, 2014, and 2022. Asia Cup Schedule 2023
The group and format of the tournament were announced on 9 January 2023. A total of 13 matches will be played, which includes six league matches, six Super 4 matches, and a final. Six teams are split into two groups of three. The top two teams from each of the groups will progress to the Super 4. From there, the top two teams will play each other in the final.
The 2023 Asia Cup will be played in the 50-over ODI format. The last time in 2018, the tournament was played in the ODI format, when India beat Bangladesh in the summit clash by three wickets in Dubai.
Asia Cup Schedule 2023- There will be a total of 13 matches in Asia Cup 2023 fixtures, the 1st match will be played on the 30th of August between Pakistan and Nepal, the 2nd match will be played on the 31st of August 2023 between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the 3rd match will be played on 2nd September between Pakistan and India, the 4th match will be played on 3rd September 2023 between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, the 5th match will be played on the 4th of September 2023 between India and Nepal, and the last league match will be played on 5th September 2023 between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. After league matches, the Super Four matches will be played from 6th September 2023 to 15th September 2023, and in the last the final match of Asia Cup 2023 will be played on 17 September 2023, Sunday.
In Asia Cup 2023, the top 4 teams for Super 4 round matches have been finalized, these teams are Pakistan (A1), India (A2), Sri Lanka (B1), and Bangladesh (B2). In the Super 4 round matches, there will be a total of 6 matches, where each team will play against the other, which means that every team will play a total of 3 matches in the Super 4 Round.

Asia Cup Teams 2023
The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council will take part in the tournament: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They will be joined by Nepal, who qualified by winning the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup. Nepal would be making their ACC Asia Cup debut having qualified for the first time.

Asia Cup Squad 2023
On 21st August 2023, BCCI announced the 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2023. Team India will be lead by Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain. Team India has two wicket-keepers namely KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan.
On 29th August 2023, Indian Team Coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that KL Rahul will not be available for the Indian team’s two matches of the Asia Cup 2023. As per the reports, KL Rahul is not truly fit to play against Pakistan on 2nd September and against Nepal on 4th September 2023.

Co-host Pakistan were the first team to announce their squad for Asia Cup 2023. Babar Azam’s side are placed in Group A alongside India and Nepal.

Co-host Sri Lanka were the last team to announce their squad for Asia Cup 2023. Sri Lanka are placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Sri Lanka has been hit by injuries to its key bowlers they named their 15-member squad. Leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is among four key Sri Lankan players who will miss the upcoming Asia Cup due to injury. Pacers Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Madushanka and Lahiru Kumara are also missing from the squad due to injuries. Binura Fernando and Pramod Madushan were late inclusions in the squad to replace the injured players.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced a 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2023. Mohammad Saleem Safi and Abdul Rahman, two fast bowlers, who were part of Afghanistan’s recent home ODI series against Pakistan, have retained their spots in the lineup, but Fareed Ahmad and Wafadar Momand have been left out of the squad. Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the team Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2023.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the Asia Cup 2023 to be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Shamim Hossain, who has already played T20 international for Bangladesh, and 22-year-old -left-handed opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim are the players in the 17-member squad who are yet to make their ODI debuts. Shakib AL Hassan will lead the team Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023.
After declaring the Bangladesh squad, the team suffered a huge blow as the star wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das was ruled out of the tournament because of illness. After it became clear that Litton would take time to recover from his viral fever, the Bangladesh Cricket Board picked Anamul Haque Bijoy as his replacement.

Asia Cup Venue 2023
Bangladesh has hosted the Asia Cup the most number of times (5). UAE has played host on four occasions, with the 2022 edition being the latest. Meanwhile, India has only hosted the tournament once in 1990-91, when it clinched its third title after beating Sri Lanka in the final in Kolkata. Sri Lanka will draw level with Bangladesh when it hosts the event for the fifth time in 2023. Pakistan will host the tournament for the second time.
The 2023 Asia Cup will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It will be the first Asia Cup to be co-hosted by multiple countries; four matches will be played in Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Pakistan and Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan, Pakistan, and the remaining nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele, Sri Lanka. The group and format of the tournament were announced on 9 January 2023. A total of 13 matches will be played, which includes six league matches, six Super 4 matches, and a final. Six teams are split into two groups of three. The top two teams from each of the groups will progress to the Super 4. From there, the top two teams will play each other in the final.
